HAPPY NEW YEAR...Make it Your Best Ever!

Oh man!  It's going to be 2008 in just a few hours!  As I write that sentence I'm thinking how strange it is to even say that... You know, time designation is an Adult Human creation! 

Think about it... does a 3 year old know our year designation is changing?  Does he/she grasp the 24/7/365 thing?  Of course not, kids are happily existing... striving.. learning...playing!  We adult humans are the time conscious ones!  Kids are joyfully going about LIVING!

Does your pet recognize time compartments... minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years?  Of course not!  Your pet is happy all the time.

What's the lesson here?

As I'm writing, I'm thinking that the lesson is to make your "New Year's Resolution" (yet another Adult Human Concept!) to joyfully live like little kids and pets.  Decide right now to have fun... whatever you are doing... Have Fun!

Just so you know, you are hearing this stuff at the same time as me!  I am having fun flowing with this thought...  let's go a little further with it...

If your job isn't fun, figure out how to make it so.  There has to be something (even one little, tiny thing) that you like about your job.  Focus on that. Determine how you can do more of that one thing, or how you can choose to change your attitude about other things you are doing.

If your network marketing business isn't as much fun or profitable as you want it to be, figure out how to make it so.  Build on your strengths.  Draw on the strengths of your upline, your mentors, your friends in the business.  Determine that you will joyfully do more of whatever you need to do to create a fun and more profitable network marketing business.

The Adult Human population has chosen to compartmentalize time and we are at the end of another 365 days... the start of a New Year.

Choose to be happy.  Choose to have fun.  Choose to make 2008 your best year ever!

Responsibilities of a Good Network Marketing Host/Sponsor

It's almost 2008 and I bet YOU, like most of us, plan for the New Year to be more profitable and abundant than the last.

Here are 10 things you can do to encourage your new business builders and help your Team grow:

1. Be sure your new partner is on auto-ship and becomes a product-of-the-product.

2. Promote and/or provide marketing tools such as DVDs, newspapers, brochures, applications, etc.

3. Promote local business presentations, regional and national conventions and rallies.

4. Introduce and involve your new partners with your upline. Be sure your new business partner know that network marketing isn't like the real business world... we provide lots and lots of support!

5. Discover your new partner's "Why"... what is in it for them?  What is the reason they decided to build a network marketing business?

6. Set immediate, short and long term goals:  Does your new partner want to build it fast or slow?  Let them know that you will move at their speed... do they want to stroll or sprint?

7. Create a daily activity plan with tracking: Always have sample tracking forms with you so they understand the importance of knowing their numbers.

8. Get a copy of your new partner's names list:  at least 20 names.  YOU get a copy so that if this new partner decides to hide in a cave after 3 "No's", you can continue prospecting for him.

9. Along with your new business partner, set up their first presentation appointments and go with them.  You are the one who knows your company's prospecting system... teach by showing.

10. Initiate a personal growth program with your new business partner. Remember Jerry Clark's statement:  "The network marketing industry is a personal growth program disguised as a business".  Have books and Cd's available to immediately loan to your new partners.

Apply these 10 responsibilities and watch your Team grow.  These items are duplicatable: know that your downline will do what you do... be sure to train 'em right!

Network Marketing is Not A "Think About It" Business

How much time do you spend "thinking about" making prospecting calls?

"Thinking about" who to call and/or what their response might be? 

"Thinking about" how to track your calls? 

"Thinking about" setting goals?

This is NOT a "think about it" business... this is a business of ACTION!

We don't get paid to think about doing the work... we get paid for doing what needs to be done.

If you are spending a lot of time getting ready to get ready, guess what?  Your team is duplicating you!

Not much momentum in your network marketing Team?   How much are YOU doing?

Stop thinking and start doing!  If you are having trouble picking up that phone for prospecting calls, figure out why.  What is your fear? 

I suggest you complete this statement. First, though, here's what I'm going to tell you... DO NOT "think about" your answer in completing the statement... say what comes immediately to mind,  OK?

Are you ready?

Complete this statement:  I am not making prospecting calls because _______________________(Fill in the blank!)

You are the only one who can compete that statement.  And, you DO know the answer.  (Hint:  "I don't know" isn't the answer!)

Are you ready to stop "thinking about it"?  Are you ready to start building your network marketing business?  Great!  Complete the sentence and start taking action.

Action may be picking up the phone and making prospecting calls. Action may be calling your upline and discussing your fear (you are likely not unique in this area!)  Action may be talking with your coach.

Whatever your action is, get going!  Create momentum in your Team... 2008 will be dramatically different!  Go for it!

In Network Marketing One Meeting A Week Won't Create Income

If you are a Realtor, would you make much income showing one house a week?

If you are a doctor, would you make much income seeing one patient a week?

Get the picture?  In network marketing, as in any other business, the minimum will not produce much income.

To build a profitable network marketing business, you will need to do more than one business presentation a week... probably three or more to generate good income. 

Is that unreasonable?  Really: is that a doable option for you?

This is a part-time business.  Most people have regular jobs and build a networking business part-time.

Three presentations a week will require about, what?, three to four hours?  Add in a few hours for initial prospecting contacts and follow-up... you are investing 6 to 10 hours a week, the result of which is that you become wealthy.  How's that for a fair trade?

Are you currently scheduling one business presentation a week?  If so, you aren't doing enough.

Do more!

One presentation a week will not create significant income but three a week will make you rich.  We are talking about creating momentum and activity in your Team.  That sounds appealing, doesn't it?

Here's a declaration I suggest.  Say it 10 times in the morning and 10 times at night for 30 days:

"DO MORE!!!"

Is It OK to Create Wealth Through Your Network Marketing Business?

Do you have a little, tiny, gnawing, aggravating voice in your head telling you that it's not OK to become wealthy?  Be honest.  Do you REALLY think you deserve to be a Millionaire?

In just a few days it will be 2008.  Did you learn way back in 1948, or 1962, or in 1975, or in 1999 that having a lot of money is not OK?  Be honest with yourself.  Are you still listening to that old life pattern you picked up lots of years ago?

The belief that having a lot of money is not OK may be the thing holding you back from being all you are meant to BE.

Did you donate funds to the Salvation Army this season?  Did you generously support your favorite charity or church mission? 

Think about it... Are kids given the opportunity to receive FREE medical treatment at Shriner Hospitals because no one has money to support that effort?  Does your local child advocacy center keep it's doors open simply on a wish and a prayer? 

NO! 

Every charitable organization is kept alive and active because of people who have enough money to provide substantial financial support.

No money = no charitable financial support.  No Salvation Army, No Charities, No Churches, No you-fill-in-the-blank!

I know a person whose financial goal is to pay six-figures in income tax!  Our Country is financially supported by taxes.  Make more...give more.

I know a person whose goal is to reverse tithe... LIVE on 10%: TITHE 90%!  If your income is $30,000, could you tithe 90%?  Probably not.  How much would you need to earn to tithe 90%? 

Is being wealthy OK? 

ABSOLUTELY!

All good works are the result of capital investment, the result of giving, the result of Good hearted, wealthy people.

Is it OK to create wealth through your network marketing business?

MY response is a resounding "YES!"

Worry and Regret Will Not Build A Strong Network Marketing Business

We are coming to the end of yet another year.

Are you perfectly satisfied with your income, your time freedom, the strength of your business?

If you are like 99.9% of the population, your answer is a resounding "NO!"

Guess what?  Worry and regret about the past year will not help change the future.

My friend, Jan Janke, told me tonight that "Worry is an insult to God.  Change every worry into a prayer and let it go."

WOW!  Is that not an excellent way to say "let go and let God"... Worry is an insult to God.

If your business isn't at the level you anticipated in December 2007, worrying about what you did or didn't do won't change anything one iota. 

What will?  Stop worrying and regretting.  Let it go.  And, decide what you intend to do different. Starting right now.

Network Marketing "Do-Attitudes"

We are all familiar with biblical Beatitudes.  I have discovered some "Do-Attitudes" that apply to building your network marketing business.

Do today's work well.  Yesterday is over: don't think about it or worry about it.  Do your best today.  The past is 2 seconds ago!

Do be responsible only for yourself.  Don't try to change or effect others with your actions or words. Be responsible for your own actions and lead by example.

Do what you can do NOW.  Don't wait for things to be perfect before you take action.

Do rely on your faith and purpose of vision of yourself.  Don't allow others to steal your dreams.

Do act NOW.  Don't spend a lot of time thinking about what you are going to do.  Do it.

Do believe in yourself and your abilities.  Know that you are where you are supposed to be right now...move toward your goals and your dreams with confidence.

I think these "Do-Attitudes" will take you and your business into a strong 2008....here we go!

In Network Marketing..as in life...You Only Get What is Yours By Giving The Other Person What is His

WOW!  Long title...and borrowed from Wallace Wattles "The Science of Getting Rich". I suggest you read this book.  It's free on the internet.  Chapter 11 "Acting in The Certain Way" tells us "When things reach you they will be in the hands of others, who will ask an equivalent for them.  And, you can only get what is yours by giving the other person what is rightfully theirs".

How does that translate to network marketing?  I think it means that we need to know the "Why" of every business builder on our Teams.

"Give the other person what is rightfully theirs".  No one is working the network marketing business for exactly the same reason as you.  Every person on your team has a unique reason for being in your business.  Do you know that reason?  If not, how are you able to help him or her attain what is rightfully theirs?

It is our responsibility to provide support, encouragement, leadership, love and care.  It is not our responsibility to build anyone's business or to want it more for them than they want it for themselves.  That is "enabling".  We want to empower, not enable. 

We are able to empower our Team members by knowing why they decided to do this business in the first place.  And to remind them of that reason.  By empowering others to reach their goals, we will be empowered to reach ours.

In network marketing, as in life, we only get what is ours by giving others what is rightfully theirs.

How Does "Water Under The Bridge" Effect Your Network Marketing Business?

Have you ever stood on a bridge and watched the water flow?  You saw leaves, branches, logs, all sorts of things floating along, didn't you?

As long as nothing stopped the flow, it all continued smoothly down the river...water under the bridge.

What happens when something gets stopped, though?  Imagine a big log becomes lodged against a tree trunk at the river's edge... then the branches flow against it and stop... then more logs get lodged...then leaves and branches and debris.  Pretty soon there is a "log jam".  How did that all happen?  ONE log got stopped.

Now imagine you are looking at your network marketing business "flowing along".  You have a prospect you are absolutely certain will  love your company's concept and you know he is your next Diamond, Platinum, Jade.   Alot of hope and dream is pinned on this prospect... he is one of the ONE'S!  He does sign up, but he does virtually nothing.  He's your log that got jammed.

Then you make a few calls with little success. Those are the branches that pile up behind the log.  The water is still flowing, but there's a log jam occurring.

Next you invite a guest to your local public overview and you know she'll be there.  You hold a couple seats in the front row, you watch the door, you tell your sponsor that you have an excellent prospect attending tonight's presentation... and she does not show up.  There's another log caught on the first one. The water is still flowing, but the logs are jamming.

Pay attention to that last sentence.  The water is still flowing, but the logs are jamming.  Through the jam the water is flowing.  Under the jam the water is flowing.  On the other side of the river the water is flowing.

Don't get hung up on the jam.  Flow like the water.  You may have to go under, over, around and/or through, but don't get hung up on the jam.  The water finds a way to continue flowing, and so will you.

I think that people who give up on their network marketing careers focused on the jam.  The water always flows under the bridge.  The water always flows. Choose to ride the current.  You can't lose!

One Key to Building a Huge Network Marketing Organization: Hold on to Nothing; Hold Nothing Back

In all the reading, thinking and conversing I've done over the years about the network marketing industry... and in success in general... here's one key I've discovered:
Hold on to Nothing
Hold Nothing Back

We have all run into prospects who are rude, who think we are nuts to be doing what we are doing, who hang up on our calls, who want to talk "sense" into us.  Sadly, many of those are our closest friends and family members, aren't they?

"Hold on to Nothing" means to not allow those nay-sayers and non-believers effect your conviction about where you are headed.  You KNOW this industry is your ticket the the quality and quantity of life that you desire and deserve.  "Hold on to Nothing" also suggests that the past is past.  The past is 5 minutes ago.  What you did 5 minutes ago does not matter.  Don't fret about it, don't beat yourself up about it. What you do NOW is all that matters.  And, that leads to the next point...

"Hold Nothing Back" means never, never, never stop.  Do what needs to be done. Decide in your own mind that nothing and no one is going to get in your way.  Make your plan and work it.  See yourself achieving your company's top of pin level...more importantly, see yourself financially secure as one of your company's highest paid business builders. 

Teach your team to hold on to nothing and hold nothing back.  Lead by example. You and your team will become untouchable.  You are living the life you designed and you are loving it...right now!
