Boy, everywhere you turn there are "coaches" these days.

Oprah features life success coaches and health coaches.  Business executives hire coaches and so do major corporations... and small corporations. 

What is a coach? 

A coach is a person who is in your corner at all times.  Your coach will see great aspects of your personality and your abilities that you don't see... and those assets will be pointed out to you.  Your coach will also make you aware of those things that are holding you back from meeting your goals.

A coach is NOT a therapist.  A coach is NOT a counselor.  A coach helps clients identify where they are and where they want to go... and then creates baby steps to get your feet moving. 

A coach is direct with observations.  One day my coach said to me "Mickie, you aren't going to like what I'm going to ask... What is your investment in being a victim in this situation?"  She was right. I didn't like what she said.  What was MY INVESTMENT in being a VICTIM??? I thought she was nuts, and I was angry....at first. 

After some conversation and soul searching I realized she was correct. Without realizing it, I had slipped into a victim mode.  YUCK!  Thank goodness, I had a coach who was not afraid to say what she saw.  We worked through the situation together and my business moved to a new level.  WOOO-HOOO!
